Role summary
Global Star Security Services (GSS) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Third-Country Nationals for the following Afghanistan-based positions:
Duties and responsibilities
1. OPERATIONS ROOM SUPERVISOR – 1 POSITION The Operations Room Supervisor will oversee the daily functioning of the GSS Operations Room and ensure continuous operational monitoring, reporting and communications. Key responsibilities: · Supervise Operations Room personnel and shift activities. · Maintain continuous communication with project locations and operational teams. · Monitor incidents, movements, personnel deployments and security developments. · Ensure accurate maintenance of occurrence books, communication logs and operational records. · Review and distribute daily situation reports, incident reports and operational updates. · Escalate emergencies and significant incidents through the appropriate management channels. · Ensure effective handovers between shifts and compliance with GSS procedures. Requirements: · Relevant military, police or private-security operations experience. · Previous supervisory or operations-room experience. · Strong English communication, reporting and computer skills. · Ability to work shifts and respond effectively under pressure. 2. TRAINING SUPERVISOR – 1 POSITION The Training Supervisor will coordinate and deliver training to security personnel and ensure that all required training records and competency standards are maintained. Key responsibilities: · Prepare and implement training plans and schedules. · Deliver induction, refresher and specialist security training. · Conduct practical exercises, assessments and competency evaluations. · Maintain training attendance registers, assessment results and personnel training files. · Identify training gaps and recommend corrective or refresher training. · Ensure training complies with GSS policies, client requirements and applicable standards. · Submit regular training reports to management. Requirements: · Relevant military, police or private-security training experience. · Recognised instructor or train-the-trainer qualification is preferred. · Strong presentation, communication and administrative skills. · Good written and spoken English. 3. OPERATIONS ROOM OPERATORS – 2 POSITIONS Operations Room Operators will support the continuous monitoring, coordination and reporting of GSS operational activities. Key responsibilities: · Monitor radio, telephone and electronic communications. · Maintain accurate operational logs, movement records and occurrence books. · Track personnel, vehicles and operational deployments. · Receive and record incident notifications and immediately escalate urgent matters. · Prepare routine operational updates, alerts and shift handover notes. · Maintain communication with project sites, mobile teams and supervisors. · Support emergency and incident-response coordination. Requirements: · Previous operations-room, control-room or security communications experience. · Good radio communication, computer and report-writing skills. · Ability to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends. · Good written and spoken English. 4. CHEF – 1 POSITION The Chef will be responsible for preparing safe, nutritious and good-quality meals for GSS personnel. Key responsibilities: · Plan menus and prepare daily meals. · Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness. · Monitor food stocks and submit timely replenishment requests. · Store and handle food items safely. · Control portions and minimise waste. · Maintain kitchen equipment and immediately report defects. · Accommodate reasonable dietary requirements where required. Requirements: · Proven experience as a chef or cook in a company, camp, hotel or similar environment. · Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices. · Ability to prepare meals for groups of personnel. · Ability to work independently and maintain a clean, organised kitchen. 5. PROJECT OPERATIONS RESERVE – 1 POSITION The Project Operations Reserve will provide flexible operational support and temporary relief across GSS projects when required. Key responsibilities: · Provide relief coverage for project operational positions during leave, absence or emergencies. · Support project mobilisation, deployment and operational inspections. · Assist Project Managers with personnel coordination, reporting and administration. · Monitor compliance with post instructions, rosters and GSS procedures. · Assist with incident response and operational problem-solving. · Conduct site visits and provide written operational updates. · Remain available for deployment to different GSS project locations as required. Requirements: · Broad military, police or private-security operations experience. · Previous supervisory or project-support experience. · Strong coordination, reporting and problem-solving skills. · Good written and spoken English. · Willingness to work flexible hours and deploy between project locations. 6. IT SPECIALIST – 1 POSITION The IT Specialist will maintain and support the company’s information technology, communications and electronic systems. Key responsibilities: · Install, configure and maintain computers, printers, networks and related equipment. · Provide technical support to GSS offices and project personnel. · Manage user accounts, system access, backups and basic cybersecurity controls. · Troubleshoot hardware, software, internet and network problems. · Maintain an updated inventory of IT equipment and software. · Support operational communications and reporting systems. · Ensure company information and systems are protected against unauthorised access or loss. Requirements: · Relevant qualification in information technology, computer science or a related field. · Previous experience in IT support and network administration. · Knowledge of Microsoft Office, operating systems, networking and cybersecurity. · Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. · Good written and spoken English.
Job requirements
· All positions are Third-Country National positions based in Afghanistan. · Candidates must possess a valid passport and be medically fit for deployment. · Previous experience in Afghanistan or another high-risk environment will be an advantage. · Candidates must be able to pass GSS recruitment, vetting, reference-checking and background-screening requirements. · Successful candidates must comply with all GSS policies, codes of conduct and client requirements.
