Role summary
Aman Eye Hospital is seeking a dedicated, highly skilled, and compassionate Optometrist to join our professional clinical team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive primary eye care, specialized refraction services, low vision rehabilitation, and advanced diagnostic evaluations for both pediatric and adult patients, maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient care.
Duties and responsibilities
Comprehensive Refraction (Pediatric & Adult): Perform detailed visual acuity assessments and objective/subjective refractive evaluations for patients of all age groups, including specialized pediatric refraction, adult visual care, and management of binocular vision anomalies. Low Vision Assessment & Management: Conduct specialized evaluations for patients with low vision, determining residual visual function and prescribing appropriate Low Vision Devices (LVDs) along with comprehensive visual rehabilitation strategies. Contact Lens Fitting & Advice: Provide expert fitting, assessment, and management for both Soft and Hard (RGP) contact lenses. Offer patient counseling on proper insertion, hygienic maintenance, and lens care protocols. Ocular Disease Diagnosis & Triage: Detect, evaluate, and diagnose conditions affecting the anterior and posterior ocular segments. Manage primary ocular conditions and ensure timely, accurate referrals to Ophthalmologists for surgical or medical intervention when required. Advanced Ophthalmic Diagnostics: Proficiently operate and interpret diagnostic technology and equipment, including Autorefractometer, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Corneal Topography, and Visual Field Analyzers. Patient Education & Clinical Care: Counsel patients on ocular health maintenance, preventative measures, and treatment compliance. Maintain precise, thorough, and confidential medical records in line with hospital policies.
Job requirements
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry (BS Optometry) or Doctor of Optometry (OD) from a recognized university. Licensure & Certification: Valid professional practice license/registration as an Optometrist. Clinical Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in an eye hospital or clinical optometry setting. Specialized Skills: Strong clinical proficiency in pediatric refraction, fitting RGP/Soft contact lenses, and operating modern ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
