Role summary
The Survey / Geomatics Engineer shall support the execution of site grading, leveling, excavation, filling, compaction, drainage grading, finishing, quantity measurement, and as-built survey works for a large-scale Solar PV Power Plant project. The main objective of the Survey / Geomatics Engineer is to ensure that all earthworks are executed according to approved drawings, design levels, coordinates, slopes, platform elevations, cross-sections, and project specifications. The position shall provide accurate survey data for site execution, level control, cut-fill verification, progress measurement, and final as-built documentation.
Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities The Survey / Geomatics Engineer shall be responsible for controlling survey, setting-out, level checking, quantity support, and as-built records for site grading, leveling, excavation, filling, and compaction works. Drawing and Data Review Review approved drawings, coordinates, benchmarks, grading levels, slopes, and cross-sections before starting the work, and report any discrepancy to the project team. Survey Control and Setting Out Verify existing control points and benchmarks, establish required reference points, and set out excavation areas, fill areas, platform limits, slopes, drainage lines, and access routes. Level Control Check excavation levels, fill levels, layer thicknesses, compacted levels, and final grading levels to ensure the work is completed according to approved drawings and specifications. Quantity Support Prepare pre-work and post-work survey data and provide verified records to the Quantity Survey Engineer for cut/fill quantity calculation, progress measurement, payment claims, and final reconciliation. As-Built Records Prepare and maintain final survey records, as-built levels, coordinates, drawings, daily survey reports, level check sheets, and discrepancy reports for completed works. Coordination and Reporting Coordinate with site engineers, QA/QC Engineer, Quantity Survey Engineer, supervisors, and machinery teams, and immediately report wrong levels, disturbed benchmarks, over-excavation, slope errors, or other survey-related issues.
Job requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Geodesy, Topographic Engineering, or a related field. · Minimum 5 years of experience in earthworks, roadworks, solar PV plants, industrial platforms, infrastructure projects, or large-scale grading works. · Strong experience in cut-fill survey, level control, setting out, quantity verification, and as-built survey. · Practical experience with total station, RTK GPS, auto level, and survey software.
