Market/Job Placement Officer

Job Summary 1. Private Sector Engagement and Job Placement Develop and maintain a database of private sector companies, digital service providers, businesses, and potential employers in Herat Province. Conduct regular outreach and networking with private sector organizations to identify employment, internship, apprenticeship, and freelance opportunities for project graduates. Establish partnerships with employers willing to recruit or provide practical opportunities for trained youth. Facilitate communication between graduates and employers, including job referrals, interviews, and recruitment processes. Support graduates in accessing suitable employment opportunities based on their skills and interests. 2. Labor Market Assessment and Opportunity Identification Conduct market assessments to identify emerging employment opportunities in digital skills-related sectors, including IT services, graphic design, digital marketing, data entry, online services, and other relevant areas. Collect information on private sector needs, required skills, and employment trends to inform project activities. Provide feedback to the training team on market demands and skill gaps. 3. Graduate Profiling and Promotion Develop and maintain updated profiles/CVs and portfolios of trained youth to facilitate employer engagement. Support graduates in preparing professional CVs, job applications, and interview skills. Promote graduates’ skills and achievements through employer networks and relevant platforms. Organize job fairs, networking events, employer meetings, and career events when required. 4. Employer Relationship Management Maintain regular communication with employers and collect feedback regarding graduates’ performance and skills. Follow up with placed graduates and employers to monitor employment status and address challenges. Document successful placements, internships, and employer partnerships. 5. Coordination, Reporting and Documentation Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, job opportunities, referrals, placements, and employment outcomes. Prepare regular progress reports on job placement activities and private sector engagement. Provide inputs for donor reports, success stories, and project documentation. Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, Training Officer, MEAL team, and other project staff. Ensure all activities are implemented in line with UNICEF requirements, project objectives, and organizational policies. Participate in project meetings, coordination forums, and relevant stakeholder events as required. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, private sector engagement, business development, employment services, job placement, or related areas. Experience working with youth employment, skills development, vocational training, or livelihood projects is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in establishing partnerships with private sector companies and employers. Good understanding of the labor market and employment opportunities in Herat Province. Strong networking, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Experience working with NGOs, UN-funded projects, or development programs is an advantage.
