Production Manager

Role summary We are looking for an experienced and motivated Production Manager to oversee the daily production operations of our dairy factory. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high product quality, meeting production targets, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. The Production Manager will lead the production team, optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure that all products are produced safely, on time, and according to company and regulatory standards. Duties and responsibilities Plan, organize, and supervise daily dairy production operations. Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining high quality standards. Monitor production schedules and coordinate with procurement, quality assurance, and warehouse teams. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and company policies. Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvement. Minimize production downtime and coordinate equipment maintenance with the maintenance team. Control production costs by reducing waste and improving operational efficiency. Ensure proper use of raw materials, packaging materials, and production equipment. Monitor inventory levels of production materials and coordinate replenishment when needed. Lead, train, supervise, and evaluate production staff. Ensure employees follow workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE). Investigate production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Maintain accurate production records and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products meet quality specifications. Participate in production planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with local food regulations and company quality standards. Job requirements Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Proven experience as a Production Manager or Production Supervisor in a dairy, food, or beverage manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of dairy processing operations and production management. Good understanding of food safety standards, including GMP, HACCP, and sanitation procedures. Experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to analyze production data and improve operational efficiency. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement practices. Familiarity with production equipment, maintenance coordination, and manufacturing processes. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems. Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines. Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations. Experience with ERP or manufacturing management systems is an advantage.
