Role summary
The Local National Assistant Project Manager will support the management of operational, administrative and logistical matters relating to GSS Local National Unarmed Guard personnel. The position will also serve as a key focal point for Local National staff matters and assist in ensuring contract performance, staff welfare, reporting, training records and daily operational coordination. The attached TOR states that the role oversees operational, administrative and logistical issues and acts as the main LN focal point for the project manager.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Acting as the main Local National focal point between GSS, the client and project management. Supporting the management of Local National Unarmed Guard personnel deployed under the relevant contract. Coordinating operational, administrative and logistical requirements for Local National guards. Liaising with the client security focal point to support contract performance requirements. Managing and guiding Local National UAG Supervisors. Maintaining open communication between GSS management, client representatives and Local National personnel. Supporting staff safety, welfare, wellness and health matters. Assisting with staff performance, service delivery, development, training and standards. Supervising the maintenance of individual and collective training records. Preparing periodic reports required by project management. Performing any other duties as directed by senior management. Reporting Line The Local National Assistant Project Manager will report to the relevant Project Manager / Senior Management on all matters relating to Local National UAG performance and contract delivery. The TOR confirms that the position reports directly to the project manager on performance matters.
Job requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements: Minimum 2 years’ security management experience in a related field, preferably including experience as a Local National UAG Supervisor. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with client management and Local National personnel at all levels. Ability to administer guards and support disciplinary action where required. Good understanding of guard-force management, reporting, supervision and operational coordination. Tertiary education is desirable. Fluency in Dari / Pashto and English is essential. Knowledge of Hindi or Nepali is desirable.
