Role summary
A zonal IT officer is responsible for managing and overseeing the IT operations and support for a specific geographic region or zone within an organization. They ensure the smooth functioning of IT systems, infrastructure, and services within their assigned zone, providing technical support, managing IT resources, and ensuring that all IT projects and initiatives are aligned with company goals. This role involves both operational management and strategic planning to ensure that IT services are delivered effectively to meet the needs of the organization.
Duties and responsibilities
· Oversee and manage the IT infrastructure within the designated zone, including hardware, software, network systems, and IT assets. · Ensure the reliable operation of network services (internet, intranet, VPNs), servers, and IT devices across the region. · Monitor and ensure that systems are fully operational and performing at optimal levels, addressing any performance issues that arise. Interfaces with all levels of IT and other departments in all areas of the company. · Responsible for solving complex, cross-functional issues reported to the AZB NOC or assigned by the supervisor. · Responsible for surveying related zone branches every quarter and resolving their issues. · Provide on-site and remote IT support to staff across multiple locations within the zone. · Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system issues promptly and effectively. · Supervise and coordinate a team of IT support staff within the zone, ensuring the effective allocation of resources and tasks. Provide technical training and guidance to local IT staff to enhance their skills and support their professional growth. · Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring IT support meets or exceeds service-level agreements (SLAs) and user satisfaction. · Plan and execute IT projects within the zone, such as system upgrades, installations, and network improvements. · Collaborate with other departments to gather requirements for IT projects, ensuring alignment with business needs and organizational goals. · Oversee the deployment of new systems, software, and hardware, ensuring that installation and configuration are completed successfully. · Ensure the timely patching and updating of systems, software, and security protocols across the zone. · Implement and monitor security policies, procedures, and systems to protect the organization’s data and IT infrastructure. · Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, taking corrective actions as necessary. · Ensure that backup systems are functioning correctly, with data regularly backed up and stored securely. · Maintain accurate records of IT assets, inventory, and maintenance schedules for all systems within the zone. · Prepare regular reports on IT performance, incidents, system uptime, and service delivery for management and senior leadership. · Ensure that all IT procedures, incidents, and troubleshooting activities are well documented for future reference and training purposes. · Manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure the timely delivery of IT services and resources. · Oversee the procurement and maintenance of IT equipment, ensuring that purchases are within budget and aligned with the company’s needs. · Track and manage the IT budget for the zone, ensuring cost efficiency and financial accountability in all operations. · Act as the primary point of contact for all IT-related matters within the zone, collaborating with other zones, departments, and the central IT team. · Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand business needs, provide updates on IT performance, and resolve issues in a timely manner. · Act as a liaison between the IT department and business operations to ensure IT systems and solutions support overall business objectives. · Coordinate with central IT teams to escalate complex issues or system failures that require additional resources or expertise. Troubleshooting of Q system during shifting of your zone branch.
Job requirements
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably BCS, · Proven experience (3+ years) in IT support, network management, and infrastructure management. · Strong technical expertise in networking, server management, systems administration, and security protocols. · Experience managing a team of IT professionals, with strong leadership and people management skills. · Project management skills and experience in successfully managing IT projects from planning to execution. · Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues across a variety of platforms and devices. · Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. · Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
