Site construction manager

Role summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Quality Control Engineer to join our project team for the Supply and installation of 220/20 KV Pol--Hashimi new substation& Extension Line Bay in Noor-el-jehad Substation. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring the Project Quality Control Plan in compliance with contract requirements, DABS specifications, and applicable international standards. The role ensures that all civil and electrical works—particularly high-voltage substation components—are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality procedures. Duties and responsibilities · Field Supervision: Maintain a constant presence on the construction site to monitor work progress, quality, and compliance with architectural plans. · Daily Schedule Management: Coordinate daily labor, subcontractor sequences, and material deliveries to eliminate site bottlenecks and downtime. · On-Site Problem Solving: Address structural conflicts, design changes, and unexpected field conditions immediately to keep construction moving. · Safety & Code Enforcement: Conduct daily site safety walks, ensure 100% compliance with OSHA and local building regulations, and lead incident investigations. · Progress Documentation: Maintain accurate daily site logs, photo documentation, RFI tracking, and field change orders directly from the site office. · Subcontractor Coordination: Lead weekly on-site coordination meetings with trade foremen to align upcoming work phases and resolve logistical disputes. • Implement and monitor the Project Quality Control Plan in accordance with contract requirements, DABS specifications, and international standards. • Prepare and maintain Quality Control (CQC) plans. • Review project scope of work, technical specifications, approved drawings, method statements, and other relevant documents. • Inspect design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with approved specifications and drawings. • Conduct quality inspections of electrical equipment. • Review manufacturer documentation, factory acceptance test (FAT) results, site test reports, and commissioning records. • Verify that all materials and equipment delivered to site comply with approved submittals and are suitable for installation. • Ensure all required civil and electrical tests are carried out in accordance with technical specifications and that results are properly documented and reported. • Identify, document, and report non-conformities (NCRs), and recommend corrective and preventive actions. • Prepare daily quality control reports reflecting progress, compliance, and resolution of quality issues. • Coordinate and document all inspections, testing, and commissioning activities in line with DABS requirements. • Chair and document weekly QC meetings with DABS representatives and site staff, and circulate official meeting minutes. • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for each definable feature of work. • Organize pre-construction meetings with subcontractors prior to commencing new work phases. • Assign, supervise, and guide QC engineers across different project zones. • Collaborate closely with site engineers, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project management to resolve quality-related issues. • Confirm that all works are executed in accordance with DABS-approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. • Prepare and compile project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, and warranties. • Participate in project meetings and provide professional input on quality matters. • Perform any other duties assigned by management related to quality assurance and control. Job requirements Qualifications & Experience · Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. · Total Experience, 5 years, Experience in similar work 3 years. · Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards, international quality standards. · Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
