Global Star Security Services Company (GSS) is inviting applications from qualified Third-Country National (TCN) professionals to join our team in Afghanistan. Available Positions: · Armourer · Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) K9 Handler · EDD K9 Supervisor · IT Specialist · Logistics Manager Job Summary: Successful candidates will support GSS operations by ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. Roles include maintaining and repairing firearms, conducting explosives detection with trained dogs, supervising K9 operations, managing IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, and overseeing logistics, procurement, and fleet management. Each position requires proven expertise, discipline, and the ability to work effectively in a multinational environment under challenging conditions.
Duties and responsibilities
01) Armourer Duties & Responsibilities Inspect, clean, service, and repair firearms and weapon systems. Diagnose faults, conduct authorised repairs, and test weapons for safety. Withdraw defective firearms from service and ensure secure storage. Support training on safe handling and maintenance of weapons. Advise management on procurement and suitability of firearms. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and weapon movements. Report losses, discrepancies, or safety concerns immediately. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years of firearm maintenance/repair experience. Recognised qualification as Weapon Artificer/Armourer (Grade 3 or equivalent). Diploma or technical certification in small arms maintenance (advantage). Strong knowledge of firearms safety, accountability, and secure storage. Ability to diagnose faults and perform authorised repairs. Competence in recordkeeping and computer-based tracking systems. Willingness to travel to project sites. Conduct searches of vehicles, baggage, parcels, compounds, and facilities. Ensure dog welfare through daily checks, feeding, grooming, and exercise. Participate in refresher and continuation training. Maintain kennels, posts, and K9 equipment hygienically. Record daily operational activities and prepare reports. Report positive indications, suspicious items, or incidents promptly. Qualifications & Experience Recognised EDD K9 Handler certification (preferred). Minimum 1 year of security industry experience. Prior EDD handling experience with military/police/security organisations (advantage). Experience working with dogs or animals (preferred). Good understanding of explosives-detection procedures. Good English communication and reporting skills. Basic computer knowledge (advantage). Valid passport and physical fitness. Monitor dog health, welfare, feeding, grooming, and housing. Coordinate veterinary support and logistical needs. Oversee kennel hygiene and operational readiness. Provide refresher and remedial training for handlers and dogs. Conduct site visits, inspections, and performance assessments. Prepare operational reports and attend management/client meetings. Ensure compliance with SOPs, contracts, and legal requirements. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years of experience with Explosive Detection Dogs. Recognised qualification in EDD handling, K9 training, or kennel management. Supervisory experience managing K9 handlers and operational teams. Strong knowledge of welfare, training, and operational requirements. Experience in kennel management and hygiene standards. Excellent English communication and reporting skills. Proficiency in computer systems for reporting. Willingness to travel to project sites. Install, configure, and update hardware/software. Diagnose and resolve technical issues. Manage user accounts, permissions, and databases. Implement backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity measures. Protect company data against breaches and malware. Maintain IT asset inventory and coordinate with vendors. Train employees on secure IT practices and provide technical support. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree/diploma in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience. Experience supporting hardware, software, networks, and users. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, and business applications. Knowledge of network administration, routers, switches, wireless systems. Understanding of cybersecurity practices (antivirus, firewalls, access controls). Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+, Microsoft, Cisco CCNA, ITIL. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good English communication skills. Develop and improve logistics policies, procedures, and systems. Oversee procurement, supplier evaluation, and subcontractor management. Manage accommodation, catering, hygiene, and facility maintenance. Control uniforms, PPE, and operational equipment inventory. Support armoury and controlled equipment management. Oversee vehicle fleet operations (allocation, maintenance, fuel control). Supervise drivers and ensure operational readiness. Ensure compliance with Afghan law, GSS policies, and contracts. Qualifications & Experience Extensive experience in logistics management within multinational/security organisations. Proven ability in procurement, supplier/subcontractor management, and fleet operations. Knowledge of Afghan laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Experience managing accommodation, catering, hygiene, and facilities. Strong organisational, supervisory, and record-keeping skills. Excellent English communication skills.
