Tour Guide

Role summary The Tour Guide is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading tours for local and international visitors throughout Afghanistan. The position ensures guests receive a safe, informative, enjoyable, and culturally enriching travel experience while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and customer service. The Tour Guide serves as the primary point of contact for guests during tours and represents Haji Aka Guest House & Tour Guide professionally at all times. Duties and responsibilities Welcome and accompany guests throughout tours and excursions. Provide accurate information about Afghanistan's history, culture, traditions, landmarks, and local customs. Lead tours in Kabul and other destinations including Bamyan, Balkh, Herat, Kandahar, Ghor, and other approved locations. Coordinate transportation, accommodation, meals, and sightseeing activities according to approved itineraries. Ensure guests comply with local laws, cultural sensitivities, and safety requirements. Monitor guest wellbeing and respond appropriately to emergencies or unexpected situations. Assist visitors with communication, translation, and interaction with local communities when necessary. Maintain regular communication with the Operations Manager regarding tour progress and any issues. Conduct pre-tour briefings and provide practical travel information to guests. Support airport pickup and drop-off services when assigned. Assist with guest registration, check-in, and check-out procedures. Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly. Take photographs and collect guest feedback when requested for marketing and service improvement purposes. Maintain records of tours, incidents, visitor numbers, and expenses as required. Promote the company's services and encourage positive reviews and referrals. Protect the reputation and image of the company through professional conduct and appearance. Job requirements High school diploma required. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Tourism, History, Hospitality, Languages, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience in tourism, hospitality, customer service, or a related field preferred. Experience guiding international travelers is an advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good knowledge of Afghanistan's history, culture, geography, and tourist attractions. Ability to speak English fluently; additional languages are an advantage. Excellent customer service and hospitality skills. Basic first-aid knowledge is desirable. Ability to travel extensively within Afghanistan.
