Job Summary General Conditions of Employment In this role, you are responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, participation, and safeguarding and for promoting and maintaining a safe and respectful workplace. You are accountable for ensuring the protection of beneficiaries, staff, contractors, suppliers, and anyone collaborating with PU-AMI from harm. You are required to sign PU-AMI’s code of conduct and model ethical leadership, ensuring compliance with the PU-AMI’s ethical framework, including the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH), child safeguarding, fraud, corruption, and other forms of misconduct within your area of responsibility. You must complete all mandatory training and ensure that all team members and affiliated personnel are aware of, understand, and adhere to the Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies. You are responsible for ensuring that safe, confidential, and accessible reporting and feedback mechanisms are in place and known to all stakeholders, and that concerns are reported, handled, and referred in a timely, survivor-centered, and confidential manner. You are expected to support the effective implementation of ethical framework policies and procedures and to ensure consistent enforcement, risk mitigation, and duty of care, in accordance with PU-AMI’s safeguarding standards and reporting/referral requirements. Work Relationship · Works under the responsibility of ( د چا تر مسؤلیت لاندې کار کوي ) : Health and Nutrition Officer · Functional/Technical Line Management by: MHPSS officer · Supervises ( څوک تر نظارت لاندې لري ): PSS Providers · In direct cooperation with ( په مستقیمه همکاري کې له ): The PU-AMI Program team in the Eastern region (including mainly PSS, Health, Nutrition program teams, and project officer Responsibilities and particular assignments General responsibilities: • Follow up on the activities as per the project plan. • Regular supervision of the activities. • Preparing monthly and weekly planning. • Provide on-the-job training and support to the PSS providers on screening and assessment of psychological distress. • Become proficient with PU-AMI data collection tools, conduct and submit screening, and assessment data, and PSS providing reports in a timely and accurate manner. • Work closely with PSS Providers and the database staff to ensure quality reporting. • Data entry of collected information from the field/ FHH level. • Ensure all work with clients is confidential and that ethical practices are observed in a culturally appropriate way, especially concerning gender sensitivities. • Work on the referrals mapping plan. • Engage in self-care through supervision, debriefings, and other shared sessions. • Attend all PSS/PFA-related trainings facilitated by PU-AMI • The PSS supervisor should follow up on the MHPSS cases with the PSS providers. • S/he should develop an action plan for the follow-up beneficiaries for the PSS providers. • S/he should fill in the necessary documents to ensure quality reporting. • Attend the MHPSS supervision/ on-the-job training meeting on regular basis. • Assist with any other related activities as deemed necessary by the expatriate MHPSS Coordinator. • Any official task by the managers of MHPSS departments and other relevant program departments for the project and activity improvement. Objective 1: Management of PSS Project Activities Activities/Main duties: • Supervise PSS sessions to pregnant and lactating mothers and caregivers of children with malnutrition in groups and/or individually, as applicable and informed by activity design. • Work with PSS providers who provide PSS services for individuals with psychological distress and psychosocial disabilities as per the cultural context and following activity guidelines/SOP. Provide necessary awareness, and psychoeducation as per screening and admission criteria for Group PSS Sessions and/or individual consultation to beneficiaries with psychological distress. • Follow program guidelines on admission and discharge of beneficiaries from intended PSS interventions and timely share activity data with the database officer. • Follow up on the activities as per the project plan • Regular supervision of the activities. • Preparing monthly and weekly planning. • Prepare supervisory reports after each supervision along with the action plan. Objective 2: Reporting and documentation Activities/Main duties: • Timely prepare and share weekly, monthly or quarterly activity data and report as per the project’s scheme. • Ensure provision of ad-hoc base reports for some specific issues such as security, challenges against the work progress, and so on. • Maintain project data and beneficiary information confidential and keep the data records in locked cabinets at the respective workstations. • Discuss data-related challenges and difficulties (*including project activities) with the Project Supervisor and PSS Supervisor during their field visits and/or supervision sessions and find amicable solutions in consultation with the MHPSS Coordinator. Objective 3: Code of Conduct and Responsibilities Activities/Main duties: • Follow the PU-AMI Code of Conduct, humanitarian and IASC MHPSS principles while delivering PSS services to wider groups of communities in crises. • Ensure safety, dignity, and confidentiality across project activities for the beneficiaries and other actors being served by the program. • Prioritise appropriate selection of beneficiaries following project guidelines and promote and protect the mental health and psychological well-being of all concerned. • Report project-specific challenges and difficulties timely and amicably to project supervisors, and find mutual solutions in the larger interest of the project. • Attend project team meetings, progress review sessions, supervision sessions, and orientation and refresher training as planned by the project team. Job Requirements Qualification/ Requirements • Degree/Certificate in psychology, social science, psychosocial certificate from IPSO or other agencies. • Experience with public health and humanitarian emergency programs can be an asset. • Having experience in psychosocial activities supervisory position. • Having at least 2 years of technical experience. • Working knowledge of English is required. • Knowledge of local areas and community structures and prior experience in working in community social/field works. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Able to work independently • Good computer skills, particularly with Ms. Office Programs • Familiarity with Nuristan context • Residency is an asset. • Having attested documents
