Job Summary Job Summary The Health Facility Vaccinator is responsible for delivering safe, timely, and high-quality immunization services in accordance with the national Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) schedule and Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) guidelines, with the aim of preventing vaccine-preventable diseases among target populations, particularly women and children. The vaccinator ensures the proper management of vaccines, including maintaining adequate stock levels, requesting vaccines based on catchment population needs, and preserving the cold chain to ensure vaccine potency. The role includes maintaining accurate immunization records, ensuring proper filing and documentation, and preparing and submitting monthly vaccination reports using MoPH/EPI formats. The vaccinator also conducts health education and awareness sessions at the health facility to promote immunization uptake and supports both routine and campaign-based vaccination activities. In addition, the vaccinator maintains stock registers for all vaccine supplies, ensures proper handling and storage of vaccines and related materials, and coordinates with supervisors and the sub-office for timely supply of vaccines and commodities. All services are delivered in accordance with humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence, and the vaccinator performs any additional tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor to ensure effective delivery service. Immunization Service Delivery and Client Care · Provide immunization services to women and children at the fixed health facility (BHC) in accordance with national guidelines. · Ensure respectful, professional, and client-friendly interaction with all patients. · Maintain 100% adherence to safe injection practices during vaccine administration. · Properly dispose of needles and used materials in safety boxes according to infection prevention standards. · Educate clients on the importance of vaccination and proper use and retention of vaccination cards. · Accurately document all administered vaccines in relevant registers and tally sheets. Vaccine Management, Reporting, and Facility Maintenance · Monitor and record vaccine temperatures daily, including at the beginning and end of each day. · Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of cold chain equipment and other health facility equipment. · Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vaccination area and related workspaces. · Prepare and submit monthly immunization reports to the designated supervisor in a timely manner. · Maintain accurate records and ensure proper filing of immunization data. · Ensure continuous stock monitoring and proper management of vaccines and supplies. · Continuously update and improve professional knowledge and skills related to immunization services. Immunization Service Delivery and Community Coordination The Fixed Health Facility Vaccinator is responsible for conducting awareness sessions for caregivers on the importance of vaccination and providing routine immunization services at the fixed health center (BHC) in accordance with national guidelines. The vaccinator administers vaccines safely and effectively to eligible individuals and ensures that communities receive regular immunization services to prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases. The role includes managing vaccination schedules, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and ensuring proper documentation of all services. Additionally, the vaccinator actively engages with communities to promote awareness and demand for immunization, traces missed children, follows up on absentees from nutrition programs, and supports Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in referring beneficiaries to the BHC for required health and nutrition services. Personal Skills and Qualifications · Certified completion of an accredited vaccination training course. · Demonstrates strong interpersonal qualities, including friendliness, patience, and attentiveness when dealing with clients and community members. · Committed to complying with and respecting all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Job Requirements Graduate from 12th class, preferred higher to educate (vaccinator, nurse, midwife). At least 2 years of experience is required. Administrative, management and organizational skills, including time management required. Fluency in written and spoken local languages Initial EPI training Knowledge of local environment and willingness and ability to travel to remote health facilities and villages; Work Experience: The Candidate must have at least two-years ‘relevant work experience in International NGOs and BPHS related health facilities or similar working context/environment. Languages Skills: Fluency in spoken and written Dari and Pashtu is a requirement. English Language skills is a plus point.
