Role summary
The Site Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all technical, operational, and administrative activities at the project site. This role ensures that construction works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations, while optimizing resources and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The Site Manager acts as the key liaison between the site team and the main office, ensuring smooth coordination, timely reporting, and effective problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties and responsibilities
· Leadership & Supervision o Lead and manage all on site project team and subcontractors. o Supervise daily operations to ensure smooth execution of construction activities. o Foster teamwork, boost staff morale, and align site operations with company goals. · Project Planning & Execution o Conduct site assessments and verify contract BOQ against site conditions and stored materials. o Implement construction works according to approved drawings and specifications. o Prepare and implement daily and weekly task plans based on the project timeline. o Ensure construction activities adhere to the project schedule. · Resource & Financial Management o Optimize use of materials, equipment, and labor to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. o Control and monitor financial aspects, including fuel usage, machinery rent, and material waste. o Handle project accounting, budget tracking, and risk minimization. · Quality & Safety o Lead quality control, safety, and compliance functions on site. o Ensure materials and equipment received are compliant with specifications and properly stored. o Collaborate with the Project Manager and QC team to maintain checklists, logs, and monitoring tools. · Coordination & Reporting o Provide technical solutions and resolve issues arising during construction. o Coordinate with the main office for timely provision of resources, materials, and financial support. o Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting challenges and recommending solutions. o Coordinate with local people and land owners, to create a fair environment for project execution. o Maintain and organize all project documentation. · Additional Duties o Estimate and request required materials throughout construction phases. o Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable · Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor engaged in electrical power project projects. · Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques, with proven ability to interpret and implement drawings, specifications, and BOQs. · Proficiency in industry-standard construction software such as Timberline, RMS/QCS, and other relevant platforms. · Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) at a professional level, with clear communication skills and the ability to lead teams effectively. · Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure. · Excellent organizational, leadership, and resource management skills, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
