Role summary
The Warehouse Officer is responsible for managing project site inventory and overseeing warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records. This role also requires physical stamina, effective teamwork, and a commitment to ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.
Duties and responsibilities
A. Warehousing & Inventory Management Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods (HV transmission line towers, conductors, hardware/fittings, substation equipment) against purchase orders and delivery notes. Unpack, label, and store incoming goods in designated locations. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and transactions using Microsoft Excel. Sort, maintain, and distribute HV Transmission line tower parts, conductors, and hardware/fittings to Project teams. Sort, maintain, and distribute HV substation-related equipment and accessories. Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels. List and prepare orders for delivery or shipment to subcontractors. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records. B. Transport & Dispatch Operations Prepare Documentation: For every truck transporting items to site, prepare all necessary documentation (Waybill, Gate Pass, Material Dispatch List, and any site-specific forms). Operational Advance: Request and manage petty cash/operational advances for transport (e.g., fuel, toll taxes, permits, and emergency repair costs) and submit timely reconciliations. Trip Planning: Assign routes and schedule truck departures to ensure timely delivery to erection sites. C. Fleet & Machinery Maintenance Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain every vehicle operational at the warehouse (trucks, pickups, forklifts, cranes, etc.) – including scheduling routine servicing, oil changes, and tire checks. Machinery Maintenance: Ensure all warehouse machinery (hydraulic pallet jacks, stackers, generators, compressors, lifting tools) is operationally ready and log all breakdowns/repairs. D. Compliance, Safety & General Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from hazards. Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods. Assist with other warehouse tasks and duties as assigned.
Job requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 4–7 years of progressive experience as store keeper/logistic officer in power project. Familiarity with inventory management software and systems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures.
