Job Summary Scope of Work: The project manager will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the AHF project, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of The key responsibilities : Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan, including detailed timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate and oversee the project team, including field staff, logistics, and monitoring personnel. Ensure effective communication and coordination with relevant stakeholders, including local authorities, community leaders, and other humanitarian organizations. Monitor and evaluate project progress, identify and address any issues or challenges, and propose corrective actions as necessary. Prepare regular progress reports, financial reports, and other project-related documentation as required. 2.2. Cash-based Interventions: Assess the feasibility and appropriateness of cash-based interventions in the project context. Develop and implement cash distribution mechanisms, including the selection and management of financial service providers. Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of cash assistance to the target beneficiaries. Monitor the utilization of cash assistance and its impact on the targeted households. 2.3. Contextual Awareness and Coordination: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the current context in Kunar and Nuristan provinces, including the security situation, local dynamics, and humanitarian needs. Collaborate with other humanitarian organizations, government agencies, and local authorities to ensure the effective coordination of relief efforts. Identify and mitigate any potential risks or challenges that may affect the project's implementation. Job Requirements Qualifications and experience: Proven experience in working for AHF funded projects. At least 5 years of experience in managing emergency relief projects, with a focus on food assistance and cash-based interventions. Proven track record of successfully implementing projects funded by the UN Agencies Strong understanding of the humanitarian principles, standards, and best practices in emergency response. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to develop and implement comprehensive project plans. Demonstrated experience in managing logistics, supply chain, and distribution processes in challenging environments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in the local languages (Pashto and/or Dari) is highly desirable. Willingness to travel and work in the Kunar and Nuristan provinces of Afghanistan.
