Job Summary The M&E Officer is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of effective monitoring and evaluation systems to track project progress, measure results, ensure data quality, and provide timely information for decision-making. The position works closely with program teams, field staff, partners, and management to ensure that project activities and outputs are properly monitored and documented. Support the development and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation plans. Monitor project activities against approved work plans, indicators, targets, and timelines. Develop and maintain appropriate data collection tools and monitoring checklists. Conduct regular field monitoring visits to verify project activities and results. Collect, compile, analyze, and validate project data from field teams and beneficiaries. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, reliability, and timeliness of project data. Maintain project databases and regularly update monitoring information. Track project indicators and provide regular updates on progress against targets. Identify implementation gaps, challenges, and delays and communicate findings to the Project Manager. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and other M&E reports as required. Support baseline, midline, endline, post-distribution, and other assessments when required. Conduct data quality assessments and spot checks to verify reported results. Document lessons learned, best practices, success stories, and challenges. Support program teams in using monitoring findings to improve project implementation. Participate in project review meetings and provide evidence-based recommendations. Ensure that beneficiary feedback and complaints are appropriately documented and communicated to relevant teams. Support accountability to affected populations through appropriate feedback and monitoring mechanisms. Maintain confidentiality and protection of beneficiary and project information. Perform other M&E-related duties assigned by the supervisor. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in M&E, MEAL, data management, or program monitoring, preferably with an NGO or humanitarian organization. Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and methodologies. Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data management tools. Experience with KoboToolbox, ODK, Power BI, or other data collection/analysis tools is an advantage. Good written and verbal communication skills in English and relevant local languages. Willingness and ability to conduct regular field visits.
