Role summary
Support the CEO in executing the Bank’s strategy, overseeing key business operations, ensuring effective performance and compliance, and coordinating senior management to achieve the Bank’s objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
1) To assist the CEO to manage the bank as per the stated Business parameters set by the shareholders and Supervisory Board of the bank. 2) To ensure that the Bank remains always compliant with the regulations already issued or being issued from time to time by the Country’s regulators that include the Central Bank (DAB) or any other Institution entrusted with such responsibilities by the Government of Afghanistan. 3) To be always mind full of the Capital, Assets, Management, Earnings and Liquidity of the Bank among other key areas of the Bank. 4) To assist the CEO to constantly monitor, guide and plan the activities of his/her key subordinates and take corrective actions where necessary in an efficient and timely manner. 5) To assist the CEO to conduct and regulate the decision-making mechanism of the bank through Board of Management of the Bank of which he/she shall be the Chairman. 6) To ensure that guidance or approval has been obtained from Board of Supervisory or General Meeting of the Share Holders where necessary while managing day-to-day affairs of the Bank. 7) To ensure that proper Policy Guidelines, Procedures and Manuals are available for above Departments of the Bank. 8) To ensure that Core Banking System (CBS) and other IT systems are in place and are available for rendering various key IMS services to the Bank with the help of the Project lead and his team. 9) To ensure that other Key Areas of the Bank like Security, HR Services, ADC Services, IT Function, Legal and Admin Services are functioning effectively and pro-actively. 10) To represent the Bank in Meetings at DAB and other important places like ABA etc. when CEO is not available. 11) To ensure that all the mandatory reporting is done efficiently, accurately and timely by the Bank to DAB where required. 12) To ensure discipline and a code of conduct in the Bank as per acceptable norms and standards. 13) To ensure that appropriate multi- level Training is imparted to all the Staff of the Bank in accordance with their experience and seniority. 14) To ensure that complaints from the Clients and Staff are attended to judiciously and promptly. 15) To ensure that any irregularity pointed out by Internal Audit, external Audit and DAB is addressed immediately and prompt corrective action is taken to regularize the matter. 16) To assist the CEO to ensure that decisions of the General meeting of the Share Holders and Board of Supervisors are implemented in the Bank where possible. 17) Develop and oversee the Bank’s marketing and business development strategy. 18) Drive customer acquisition, retention, and market growth. 19) Oversee marketing campaigns, branding, and product promotion. 20) Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities. 21) Coordinate with Business, Product, Operations, and other departments to support revenue growth. 22) Ensure marketing activities comply with regulatory requirements and the Bank’s policies.
Job requirements
Minimum bachelor degree in commerce, economics, accountancy, business studies, Islamic banking. Minimum of 03 years relevant experience similar to the above gained in bank, or 05 years latterly as a Chiefs and Deputy Chief Officer or equal experience in other financial institutions. Preferred to be certified from professional Certification (AAOIFI) Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions.
