Role summary
The Academy Coach is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for players within the academy. This role focuses on fostering talent, improving skills and promoting a positive sports culture. The coach will work closely with players and other coaching staff to ensure the holistic development of academy players. The Academy Coach will directly report to HPC Manager.
Duties and responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITEIS: 1. Training and Development: Design and implement age-appropriate training programs. Conduct regular training sessions focusing on skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning. Provide individual feedback and coaching to players to enhance their performance. 2. Game Management: Prepare and manage the team for matches and competitions. Develop game strategies and provide tactical instructions during games. Analyze team performance and adjust strategies as necessary. 3. Player Development: Monitor and evaluate player progress through regular assessments. Create individual development plans for players. Mentor and support players in their personal and athletic growth. 4. Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with players, and other coaching staff. Work collaboratively with other coaches and staff to ensure a consistent and holistic approach to player development. Participate in regular coaching meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the academy programs. 5. Administration: Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance, and development. Organize and participate in meetings with relevant department to discuss player progress and address any concerns. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. 6. Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques, sports science, and industry best practices. Attend relevant training courses, workshops, and seminars. Timely monthly report regarding tours and camps.
Job requirements
Certificate of related field (Level 1, 2, 3) Previous coaching experience (4-8 years), preferably at the academy level. Relevant coaching certifications are highly desirable. Strong knowledge of sport-specific techniques and training methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate players. Capability to assess player performance and develop improvement plans. Effective at planning and managing multiple tasks. Strong ability to build relationships with players, parents, and colleagues. Working Conditions: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Based at the academy with travel required for games and tournaments. Indoor and outdoor training facilities.
