Job Summary Goal Apply medical and nutritional protocols to ensure the care of the patients in nutrition centers. Provide nursing care, treatment, and follow-up for children suffering from severe malnutrition, according to national protocols, universal hygienic standards, and other procedures, in order to ensure a good delivery of care and improve their nutritional conditions Objective 1: implementing maternal infants and young children and care practice program in the TFU Ensure the warm welcome of the caregivers and beneficiaries to the TFU centers. Helps to identify needs for breastfeeding challenges and provide adequate counseling Facilitates sessions on nutrition, health, and hygiene good practices to pregnant and lactating women and caregivers of malnourished children attending the TFU service Providing one on one breastfeeding counseling support for mothers experiencing difficulties in breastfeeding including demonstration and breastfeeding techniques and supporting re-lactation Ensure the registration of all the beneficiaries in the IYCF register Ensure all children and pregnant mothers registered for IYCF support are linked with relevant services in the TFU Ensure all infants below 6months with no possibility of breastfeeding are provided the required support Maintain coordination with the MHPSS counselor at the Centre for mental health care services for the caregivers and cognitive development of admitted SAM children Objective 2: facilitating the implementation of Behaviour change communication activities in the TFU Work in collaboration with the TFU head nurses other nurses, and the MHPSS counselor to plan and implement facility-based IYCF activities (Group sessions, and individual sessions). Work in collaboration with TFU nurses on health and nutrition education sessions to ensure focused IYCF education sessions in the facility. Work with the head nurse to ensure IYCF IEC materials are made available and displayed in the facility and in the public areas of the hospital. Objective 3. Reporting Keep a record of all the beneficiaries including screened admitted, discharged, and referred segregated by age group and gender on a weekly and monthly basis. Compilation of the daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports. Job Requirements Background/qualifications Nurse Graduated degree At least one year of experience in nutrition, pediatric activities, Humanitarian spirit Good organization, Interpersonal and communication skills Good team interaction and positive attitude fluent in Local language
