Role summary
The Transport Admin Senior Officer (Automotive Quality Control) is responsible for ensuring that all fleet vehicles meet quality, safety, and operational standards. The role focuses on monitoring vehicle condition, enforcing maintenance quality, reducing breakdowns, and improving overall fleet performance through effective inspection and reporting systems.
Duties and responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. Verify the quality of repairs and maintenance performed by workshops. Identify recurring mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions. Develop and implement vehicle inspection checklists and schedules. Monitor vehicle performance, breakdown trends, and reliability. Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant before deployment. Coordinate with workshop teams to ensure high-quality servicing and repairs. Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are properly followed. Monitor spare parts quality and usage. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance history. Prepare quality control reports (daily, weekly, monthly). Track KPIs such as downtime, maintenance cost, and failure rates. Ensure all vehicles comply with company policies and local transport regulations. Enforce safety standards and operational procedures. Investigate vehicle incidents and recommend preventive measures. Analyze maintenance costs and identify areas for improvement. Reduce unnecessary repairs and prevent misuse of vehicles. Support cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Provide guidance and training to drivers on vehicle care and basic checks. Support transport and workshop teams in improving maintenance practices. Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Job requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a relevant field. Must have 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience. Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair standards. Experience working with workshops and maintenance teams. Fluent in one of the local languages (Dari, Pashto), and English (written and spoken). Must have good knowledge of computer programs (especially office packages). Demonstrates a strong work ethic. Possesses excellent communication skills. Upholds integrity and honesty. Capable of performing well under pressure. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during work. Willingness to travel to other provinces and work additional hours. Adheres to company rules and policies.
