Role summary
To operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and monitor the Bank Head Office’s electrical infrastructure and critical power systems to ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted electrical supply for all banking operations and building services. The role combines planned preventive maintenance with rapid fault diagnosis and response, so that continuity of supply to critical banking systems is protected and the risk of power-related disruption is kept to a minimum.
Duties and responsibilities
1) Technical Operations & Maintenance: Maintain LV electrical distribution systems. Inspect MDBs, SMDBs, DBs, MCCs, switchboards, breakers, isolators, contactors, relays, cables, busbars, and electrical connections. Check voltage, current, frequency, phase balance, power factor, and electrical loads. Maintain building lighting, emergency lighting, sockets, switches, and related accessories. Maintain earthing and bonding systems. Operate and maintain standby diesel generators and test the generator starting and automatic transfer functions. Inspect generator control panels, breakers, batteries, chargers, and electrical connections and all related parameters. Coordinate with the Mechanical Technician for engine, fuel, cooling, lubrication, and exhaust maintenance. Respond to generator failure during utility power outages. Inspect and maintain UPS systems and battery banks, and monitor the UPS load, voltage, alarms, bypass, and battery condition. Maintain electrical power supplies to fire pumps, other fire-protection equipment, and fire alarm electrical interfaces. Maintain emergency lighting and exit-sign power supplies. Ensure electrical work does not compromise fire-rated systems. Maintain the Rolling Shutter Electrical panels and all related equipment. Support elevator electrical maintenance. Support CCTV, access-control, and other ELV systems where electrical power is involved. Maintain electrical spare parts and consumables. 2) Compliance & Safety: Ensure all engineering operations comply with relevant regulatory codes, company policies, and safety standards. Adhere to and enforce strict safety protocols, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and maintain a safe working environment. Work closely with management to ensure compliance with all government regulations. Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Job requirements
Educational Qualifications: Minimum education shall be Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Relevant Experience: Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience. Building/facility maintenance experience preferred. Skills & Competencies: Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls after hours and work flexible hours as needed. Basic English and computer literacy Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency and risk mitigation. In-depth knowledge of complex building systems, including LV/MV Distribution Boards, Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Drawings, and wiring Systems. Strong communication, teamwork, coordination, and reporting skills.
