Job Summary The Psychosocial Counselor will work in Psychosocial Counseling Center (PSCC) established in the national, Regional, Provincial and District Hospital The detailed job description is mentioned below. Under the overall supervision of PSCC In-charge the Psychosocial Counselor will be responsible to; Responsible for day-to-day management and supervision of the PSCC. Ensure the PSCC guidelines are followed in all activities of PSCC. Provide psychosocial case management, including referral to any other available services (health, specialized mental health, etc.) when requested by the client. Regular and continuous follow-up of clients registered in the PSCC. Provide individual and group psychosocial support to women and girls to help them cope with the trauma reactions. Provide psychological first aid (PFA) and assess the needs of clients through one-to-one sessions. Responsible for maintaining and confidentiality of all registered documents. Compile and share weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting with the relevant person/Technical Manager. In consultation with the technical manager, provide technical support to all PSCC activities, and community mobilizers. Based on the request of the authorized person, attend and participate in all relevant meetings/training-related meetings to the program's purpose. Ensure that all work with clients is kept confidential and that ethical practices are always followed. Process request and purchase requests for the PSCC needy supplies and ensure PSCC supplies are constant and are used properly. Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Psychosocial Counseling, or Mental Health, or a MoPH-approved Diploma in Psychosocial Counseling. If no suitable candidate is found who meets the above requirements, a qualified midwife with at least two years of relevant MHPSS experience may also be considered. At least 2-3 years of field experience within a Humanitarian NGO/Agency in the same or similar position. Extensive experience providing Psychosocial support to individuals and groups. Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Skilled at working as a team member. Possess group facilitation skills. Able to speak/write in Pashto and Dari with clarity and ease. Flexibility and willingness to change work practices and hours. Ability to work under pressure.
