Lab Supervisor

Job Summary Distribute cool boxes with freeze icepacks to DBS collectors and make sure that DBS collectors properly collect and store the samples. Collect samples from DBS collectors, check temperature, properly document and handover them to cold chain supervisor or to the reference laboratory. Regularly follow and communicate with the in charge person in the reference laboratory and make sure that the samples are properly kept below -20 󠅃degree Celsius. Cooperate with the cold chain supervisor and ensure teamwork in the field. Update stock card and consumption report for the lab items. Prepare report of the DBS collection and consumption on daily, weekly, and monthly base and submit it to the technical supervisor/provincial officer. Coordinate with the nearest health facility in the area for the proper waste management and disposal of the waste to ensure environmental safety. Prepare specifications and participate in the procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies. Monitor and supervise DBS collection process in close collaboration with the technical supervisor and make sure that DBS collectors perform his duty according to his job description. Have a portable stock of lab items with him during supervision/monitoring visits and distribute them to DBS collectors in case of need. Prepare monthly work plan and submit it to the technical supervisor/provincial officer. Check the quality of lab items including expiry date Any other task assigned by the line manager. Job Requirements o Diploma in laboratory o 3-5 years’ work experience in the similar field
