Job Summary Purpose of The Position: The hygiene & nutrition trainer will assist the training department and will work together with other trainers to achieve the project outputs. He/she will be primarily responsible for the planning and implementation of hygiene/nutrition trainings in the targeted communities. Role and Responsibilities · Traveling to the target districts is required to conduct training. · Organize and conduct hygiene and nutrition trainings and awareness sessions about personal and environmental hygiene, and nutrition and prevention measures to the targeted communities and develop training plan/calendar for the whole period. · Participate in developing teaching tools adapted to various levels of the population: role games, meetings, training, etc. · Apply the methodologies defined for the sensitizing sessions on hygiene and nutrition promotion. · Considering the production problems / Do No Harm policy for the population. · Build and maintain good relationships with community members and community leaders. · On time, coordinate with the line Manager and other relevant project staff in all issues related to the implementation of hygiene and nutrition activities. · Motivate the community for contributions to the program. · Represent the organization with the Participants with the agreement of the hierarchical supervisor. · Strong planning and reporting ability. Provide daily and weekly progress/activity reports. · Assist training department in day-to-day tasks and activities. · Keep an updated record of all field activities undertaken. · Assist CMs with the field support including distributions, and PPs selection. Job Requirements Qualifications and Education Requirements: A. Qualification: · Bachelor’s degree with three years of training experience in the related field · Medical background is an asset. B. Experience: · Experiences in WASH projects (at least 3 years in the same position) · Knowledge/experience on hygiene and nutrition promotion · Experience working with the community. · Basic knowledge of community mobilization and surveys. · Familiarity with cultures of different Afghan communities. · Basic information regarding Afghanistan MoPH BPHS system is an asset. Preferred/Required Skills · Able to work independently and act on own initiatives. · Excellent planning skills · Good team worker · Able to effectively coordinate tasks. · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Problem solving and basic counseling skills. · Able to conduct hygiene related training at the central and field level. · Must be computer literate and familiar with basic computer software including MS Office and internet use. · Able to produce reliable training plans and timely reports.
