Job Summary The …Lab Tech’s responsibilities include: · Management and coordination of all laboratory-related activities and services within the hospital and Outpatient Department (OPD). · To provide high-quality laboratory services. · To ensure the blood bank remains functional and operational. · Perform duties during official working hours and according to the duty roster, as required. · Be responsible for all activities and matters related to the laboratory. · Ensure the safe and proper storage of laboratory materials, maintain records of consumable supplies, and replenish laboratory stock in a timely manner. · Accurately maintain and organize the laboratory examination register. · Preserve malaria and sputum slides for quality control of positive TB and malaria slides. · Observe infection prevention, hygiene, and safety measures during sample collection and ensure the safe disposal of all laboratory samples after completion of the required procedures. · Prepare reports on laboratory consumable materials whose expiry date is at least six months away. · Ensure the timely disposal of expired laboratory materials upon written instruction from the responsible authorities. · Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly reports, or reports as requested by the Medical Director, regarding the receipt and consumption of laboratory materials. · Prepare requests for laboratory materials under the supervision and guidance of the Medical Director. · Improve professional knowledge and awareness and obtain updated information regarding relevant national guidelines. · Perform any other official duties assigned by the Nursing Manager and Medical Director as deemed necessary. Job Requirements · Qualifications: Candidates must have the following qualifications: · Graduated from the Medical Technology program from a recognized medical or health sciences institution. · Priority will be given to qualified candidates who are residents of the local area. · Valid registration/license from the relevant health authority. · Preferably 1–2 years of relevant work experience in Medical technology services, especially in a hospital or health facility. · Basic computer skills for recording data and preparing reports. · Ability to work effectively under pressure and in resource-limited settings. · Good communication and interpersonal skills. · Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; knowledge of English · Willingness to work in remote and underserved areas when
