Role summary
Alternative LLC is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and independent Procurement & Operations Specialist to join our remote team. This role is responsible for managing the complete procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, vendor management, negotiation, purchasing, logistics coordination, and procurement documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong procurement and operations experience, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will support multiple contracts and global supply chain activities while ensuring timely procurement, cost efficiency, and smooth operational execution. This position includes a competitive base salary along with a commission-based incentive. A specified commission will be awarded for each successfully secured project.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage the complete procurement lifecycle from sourcing to purchasing. Source qualified vendors and suppliers for a wide range of products and services. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with vendors. Request and evaluate quotations through email and phone communication. Prepare and issue purchase orders and monitor order fulfillment. Coordinate with vendors and logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries. Prepare and maintain invoices, procurement records, contracts, and compliance documentation. Resolve procurement, logistics, supplier, and product availability issues. Monitor procurement timelines to meet project deadlines. Communicate procurement progress and updates directly with management. Maintain organized supplier databases and procurement documentation. Perform additional operational and administrative tasks as required.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of one year of experience in procurement, purchasing, operations, logistics, or vendor management. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment. Flexible availability based on operational requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online procurement systems. Good IT skills and the ability to work with digital procurement platforms and business tools. Reliable laptop/computer and high-speed internet connection.
