Mining Engineer

Role summary To support and lead mining field operations including exploration, extraction, and processing activities; ensure technical compliance with mining standards; manage geological and operational data; and contribute to planning, reporting, and GIS‑based analysis for efficient and safe mining operations. Duties and responsibilities Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing mining field operations such as exploration, drilling, sampling, extraction, and processing. Conduct geological assessments, field surveys, and data collection to support mine development and operational decisions. Prepare technical reports, operational plans, maps, and documentation related to mining activities. Use GIS tools to analyze geological data, map mining areas, and support exploration and extraction planning. Monitor mining activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and operational procedures. Coordinate with geologists, civil engineers, field teams, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of mining operations. Support the design and optimization of mine layouts, access routes, and operational zones. Manage sampling, logging, and documentation of geological and mineral data. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management. Assist in identifying operational challenges and proposing technical solutions. Ensure proper use of equipment, tools, and safety gear during field operations. Perform any other mining‑related duties assigned by authorized supervisors. Job requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a closely related field. Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in mining field operations such as exploration, extraction, or mineral processing. Experience working in rugged terrain or remote mine sites is an advantage. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) for mapping and spatial analysis. Understanding of exploration techniques, drilling operations, sampling procedures, and mine development. Ability to prepare technical plans, operational schedules, and professional reports. Language Skills: Proficiency in Dari / Pashto . Working knowledge of English . Personal Competencies: Ability to work in remote and challenging field conditions. Strong analytical, planning, and reporting skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. High attention to detail and commitment to safety and operational standards.
