Duties and responsibilities
Design and prepare engineering plans, drawings, and technical specifications for mine access roads, internal haul roads, and camp infrastructure. Conduct site assessments, topographic studies, and route selection using GIS tools and field surveys. Ensure all road designs comply with national standards, mining safety requirements, and environmental considerations. Supervise and monitor construction activities for access roads, drainage systems, retaining structures, and camp buildings. Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, material specifications, and construction schedules. Coordinate with field engineers, geologists, mining teams, and contractors to ensure smooth implementation of engineering works. Oversee construction quality control, including compaction tests, material testing, and structural inspections. Manage GIS data, mapping, and spatial analysis for road alignment, camp layout, and mine planning support. Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and engineering updates for management. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, engineering standards, and project requirements during all field activities. Provide technical solutions for terrain challenges, erosion control, slope stability, and road maintenance. Perform any other engineering duties assigned by authorized supervisors.
