Role summary
To manage the administrative and technical functions of the mining department, ensure effective coordination among relevant units, support the management of geological samples, and work closely with the field engineer to facilitate transparent, efficient, and accurate mining operations.
Duties and responsibilities
Coordinate and follow up on departmental activities, work plans, directives, and operational tasks, ensuring timely reporting to the Mining Department Manager. Organize, classify, register, and maintain all departmental documents, letters, contracts, reports, and technical records while ensuring confidentiality and proper archiving. Facilitate effective communication and coordination between internal units, external stakeholders, government entities, and mining-related institutions. Record, track, and manage all incoming and outgoing correspondence, proposals, and requests within the office documentation system. Plan, schedule, and coordinate meetings, appointments, field visits, travel arrangements, and work programs for the Mining Department Manager. Prepare meeting agendas, document minutes and decisions, and follow up on action items to ensure timely implementation. Identify departmental needs, prepare requisitions, and follow up with relevant units to ensure timely procurement of equipment, materials, and operational resources. Maintain and safeguard confidential information, office assets, equipment, and all administrative and technical records. Assist in field operations, including collecting, recording, organizing, and managing technical data related to mining activities. Support the management, labeling, storage, and documentation of geological samples and other technical datasets according to departmental standards. Organize and maintain the mineral sample display showcase for visitors, partners, and potential investors. Ensure continuous coordination with the Ministry of Mines and other relevant government bodies on mining-related matters. Perform any other duties assigned by authorized officials in accordance with organizational policies, regulations, and project objectives.
Job requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field. Work Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in administrative work or within the mining sector. Experience working in field-based or technical environments is an advantage. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with document management systems and digital filing procedures. Basic understanding of geological samples, mining operations, or technical data management (preferred). Language Skills: Full proficiency in Dari and Pashto. Working knowledge of English. Personal Competencies: Ability to work in challenging field conditions and remote locations. High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain professional relationships with government and private-sector stakeholders. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
