Role summary
The IP back office engineer is responsible design, plan, implement and O&M of IP networks, including routing and switching configurations, to meet network requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
· Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and … to ensure optimal network performance. · Investigate and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, routing errors, and network outages. · Configure and manage routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) for optimal traffic routing. · Implement and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies. · Understanding and working with various network protocols, such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS, to optimize network performance and routing. · Configuring load balancers to distribute network traffic evenly across servers to ensure high availability and optimal performance of applications and services. · Configuring and maintaining routers and switches to ensure proper data routing within the network, include setting up VLANs, access control lists, and Quality of Service (QoS) policies. · Design and implement QoS policies to prioritize and optimize network traffic. · Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues. · Continuously improving network performance and efficiency by optimizing configurations, routing paths, and network resources. · Interacting with network equipment vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades, and procurement of networking hardware and software. · Provide technical support and collaborate with cross-functional teams. · Provide 24/7 support for network-related emergencies. · Implementation of new major fiber transmission and IP network, upgrade of fiber transmission and IP network and access links to the customer throughout the AFTEL network; · The IP/MPLS services’ implementation covering the installations, testing and handover, and proactively perform corrective maintenance of IP/MPLS Network; · Following up the project from initiation till end; · Provide the report on the project progress to his/her line manager; · Coordinate with all the relevant departments; · Preparing technical tools for the project implementation; · Installation and configuration of technical equipment as per requirement; · Implementation of any other tasks assign by line manager; · Providing suggestions for constructive technical ideas to improve fiber optic projects; · Follow up all the pending tasks to the relevant department and stockholders; · Implement all the projects in accordance with given specification in the contract; · Attend meeting when required;
Job requirements
· Education: Minimum bachelor degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication, Networking, and ICTI is required. · Experience: Minimum one-year relevant experience is required. Skills Required: • Having skills in computer programs (Ms. Office) • Familiarity with domestic and foreign official languages (English). • Good skill in diagnosing and analyzing network problems. • Sound knowledge of optical fiber transmission and IP Networks. • Familiar with the telecom network elements • Hand on experience with OFC implementation tools and technology. • Having CCNA or higher lever network related knowledge.
