Role summary
Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, cash flow management, compliance, and internal controls. The Finance Manager supports the CFO in implementing financial strategies, ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance, strengthening financial governance, and providing accurate financial information to support effective decision-making and the achievement of organizational objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
· Lead the development and consolidation of organizational budgets and forecasts. · Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making. · Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. · Conduct variance analysis and trend reviews to assess financial performance and recommend corrective actions. · Oversee preparation of financial statements for individual entities and consolidated group reports. · Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of accounting records in line with statutory requirements. · Manage vendor payment processes, including internet banking and documentation verification. · Ensure accurate tax calculations, timely filings, and adherence to legal and statutory requirements. · Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and donor rules. · Strengthen internal controls, verify documentation, and review authorization processes before payment execution. · Coordinate with auditors and facilitate external/internal audits. · Monitor and manage daily cash flows and liquidity positions. · Liaise with local and international banks to ensure effective banking operations and optimize cash management. · Lead implementation and enhancement of accounting systems to support accurate bookkeeping and financial operations. · Develop, implement, and monitor finance, procurement, and liquidity policies. · Supervise and mentor finance staff to enhance departmental capacity and performance.
Job requirements
· ACCA Member/Finalist. · Minimum of 4-5 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 2 years in a Managerial role. · Strong experience in budgeting, financial analysis, reporting, and compliance. · Proven experience with financial systems implementation and process improvement. · In-depth understanding of national regulations, tax laws, and international accounting standards. · Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. · Excellent leadership and team development abilities. · Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar). · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
